News:We’re Helping Chicago Re-Imagine A Public Sq. By Design-Building A Temp. Structure.

In some respects, the Polish Triangle in Chicago is remarkably congenial- there’s a rather nice fountain, there are numerous benches, a fair number of trees and it’s also a subway stop- however, it’s stuck in the midst of the intersection of three major streets and quite frankly it could generally use a lot more love.

Cue the heralds and trumpets.

We’re really excited to announce that on July 9th we will be leading a crack team of burgeoning teenage architects to work with Chicagoans to design-build a temporary structure that will help the neighborhood re-imagine how the Polish Triangle might look, and be used. In conjunction with the grand opening of the fantastic Wicker Park Bucktown ‘Make Believe: Reactivating Vacant Spaces’ (here) project in vacant storefronts in the neighborhood, our work, done in collaboration with the great folks at the Chicago Architecture Foundation (here), Metropolitan Planning Council (here) and Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce (here), will be part of a larger effort to think about new possibilities in the area.
